Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Unpublished work: The manuscript has not been previously published.
  • Single submission: The submission is not currently under consideration by another journal
  • Plagiarism clearance: The text adheres to the journal's strict Plagiarism Policy.
  • Template adherence: The text meets the styling and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Journal Template.
  • Article type specification: The manuscript is clearly categorized as a research article, literature review, systematic review, or case report.
  • Citation style: All references are formatted accurately according to the Author Guidelines.
  • Suggested reviewers: The author has provided the names and institutional email addresses of potential peer reviewers in the fields of medicine or health sciences. "Please provide 3 suggested reviewers (Name, Affiliation, and Institutional Email) in the 'Comments for the Editor' text box during Step 1 of your submission."
  • Anonymized text: All author names and affiliations are removed from the main manuscript file to ensure a fair peer-review process.
  • Manuscript format: The main text file is strictly in .doc or .docx format.
  • Media placement: All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points.
  • Supplementary document formats: Supporting files such as the Authorship Agreement and Ethical Clearance are uploaded in .pdf, .jpg, or .png format.
  • Complete authorship agreement: The Authorship Agreement includes the names, affiliations, email addresses, and signatures of all contributing authors.
  • Open access license: Authors agree to the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license.

Author Guidelines

To ensure a smooth peer-review and publication process, all submitted manuscripts must strictly adhere to the following formatting and citation standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be returned to the authors for correction before undergoing review.
1. General Formatting Standards
  • File Format: All main manuscripts must be submitted in .doc or .docx format only.
  • Layout: A4 paper size, with 2.5 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides, typed in a single-column or double-column format matching the official [Journal Template].
  • Typography: Use Times New Roman or Arial, 12-point font size, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Anonymization: To guarantee a fair double-blind peer review, please ensure that no author names, institutional affiliations, or contact details appear anywhere within the main manuscript file. This metadata should only be entered in the OJS system or on a separate title page.
  • Visual Elements: All figures, charts, and tables must be embedded directly within the text at their appropriate locations, rather than compiled at the end of the file.
2. Reference and Citation Standards
Jurnal MedScientiae utilizes the Vancouver Citation Style (numbered citation system), which is the standard format for biomedical and health science publications.
General Citation Rules
  • References must be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text.
  • Identify references in the text, tables, and legends by Arabic numerals in superscript (e.g., ...as previously described.² or According to Smith,¹³...).
  • Use the official NLM/PubMed database abbreviations for journal titles. If a journal is not indexed, write its full title.
  • Provide the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) link for all references where available.

Copyright Notice

Authors submitting manuscripts to Jurnal MedScientiae must agree to the following terms as part of the submission process:
1. Retention of Copyright & Publishing Rights
  • Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant Jurnal MedScientiae the right of first publication.
  • The manuscript will be simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
2. Terms of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 License
This license allows others to:
  • Share — Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt — Remix, transform, and build upon the material.
Under the following strict conditions:
  • Attribution — Proper credit must be given to the authors and Jurnal MedScientiae, a link to the license must be provided, and any changes made must be clearly indicated.
  • Non-Commercial — The material cannot be used for commercial purposes.
  • ShareAlike — If anyone remixes, transforms, or builds upon the work, they must distribute their contributions under the same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license as the original.
3. Self-Archiving & Post-Publication Distribution
  • Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their personal websites) after its formal publication in Jurnal MedScientiae.
  • Any such distribution must explicitly acknowledge the article’s initial publication in Jurnal MedScientiae, including the volume, issue, year, and a direct link to the article's active DOI.
4. Indemnification Statement
  • The authors warrant that the manuscript is their original work, does not infringe upon any existing third-party copyrights, and does not contain any unlawful or plagiarized statements.
  • In the event that the manuscript involves co-authors, the corresponding author warrants that they have been authorized by all co-authors to enter into this agreement on their behalf.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
