Jurnal MedScientiae is an open-access scientific journal managed by Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Krida Wacana Christian University. This journal publishes scholarly articles in the fields of medicine and health sciences, including basic medical sciences, medical bioethics, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, physiology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, anatomy, pharmacology, public health, optometry, nursing, medical education and other biomedical sciences.
The journal accepts research articles, literature reviews, systematic reviews, and case reports. All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and prepared according to the journal’s formatting guidelines. Each manuscript undergoes a peer-review process by experts in the relevant field.
Jurnal MedScientiae is published three times a year (April, August, and December). The journal does not charge any submission or publication fees.

Multidisciplinary Perspectives in Medical and Health Sciences
JMedScientiae Volume 5, Issue 1 (2026) features 19 original research articles that reflect the breadth of contemporary medical and health sciences. The published studies encompass diverse disciplines, including physiology, internal medicine, clinical nutrition, forensic and medicolegal medicine, microbiology, anatomy, pathology, pharmacology, surgery, anesthesiology, ophthalmology, public health, and medical education. Together, these contributions provide evidence that supports advances in biomedical research, clinical practice, preventive medicine, and healthcare education.
This issue explores a wide range of current health topics, including nutritional status and lifestyle among medical students, chronic kidney disease, nephrolithiasis, food safety, infectious diseases, metabolic disorders, clinical epidemiology, and laboratory-based biomedical investigations. The diversity of research themes demonstrates the journal's commitment to disseminating scientific findings that address both fundamental and applied aspects of medicine and health sciences.
A distinctive feature of this issue is the broad distribution of authors across multiple academic departments and institutional affiliations. Most authors are affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Krida Wacana Christian University (UKRIDA), Jakarta, Indonesia, representing collaboration among departments such as Physiology, Internal Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Surgery, Anesthesiology, Ophthalmology, Forensic and Medicolegal Medicine, and Public Health. In addition, this issue includes contributions from researchers affiliated with Airlangga University, Surabaya, Indonesia, highlighting inter-institutional collaboration and strengthening the multidisciplinary nature of the published research.
