Advancing Clinical Medicine, Vision Science, and Multidisciplinary Health Research

JMedScientiae Volume 4, Issue 2 (2025) presents 20 peer-reviewed articles, comprising 16 original research articles and 4 literature reviews, highlighting recent developments across clinical medicine, biomedical sciences, and public health. The published works address a broad range of contemporary topics, including ophthalmology and vision science, microbiology, infectious diseases, internal medicine, occupational health, pharmacology, dermatology, cardiovascular medicine, and evidence-based clinical practice.

A distinctive focus of this issue is vision science and eye health, with multiple studies investigating refractive errors, accommodation disorders, anisometropia, glaucoma, stereopsis, color vision, and visual screening among preschool children, school-aged children, and university students. Complementing these are investigations on antimicrobial resistance, cardiovascular outcomes, musculoskeletal disorders in occupational settings, physical activity, anxiety among medical students, and preventive health, alongside literature reviews on psoriasis, colorectal cancer, omega-3 supplementation in dry eye disease, and the rational use of benzodiazepines. Together, these contributions provide valuable evidence to support clinical decision-making, disease prevention, and healthcare research.

This issue also demonstrates the broad distribution of authors across multiple academic departments and professional disciplines. Most contributors are affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Krida Wacana Christian University (UKRIDA), Jakarta, Indonesia, representing collaborative research from departments and study programs including Optometry, Microbiology, Internal Medicine, Pharmacology, Occupational Medicine, Dermatology and Venereology, and other biomedical disciplines. Several studies were conducted in partnership with hospitals, schools, and community healthcare settings, illustrating the integration of academic research with clinical and public health practice.
