Advancing Multidisciplinary Medical Research Through Clinical and Translational Perspectives

JMedScientiae Volume 4, Issue 1 (2025) presents 13 peer-reviewed articles encompassing original research and literature reviews that reflect the multidisciplinary scope of contemporary medical and health sciences. The published studies address a wide range of clinical and biomedical topics, including ophthalmology, nephrology, hematology, obstetrics and gynecology, forensic medicine, bariatric surgery, nutrition, and the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Together, these contributions provide evidence that supports advances in clinical practice, disease prevention, and medical innovation.

The articles explore diverse and timely healthcare issues, such as refractive disorders and binocular vision in children and university students, ovarian cyst pathology, chronic kidney disease–associated anemia, obesity management through bariatric surgery, fracture risk assessment in older adults, traffic injury patterns, and emerging technologies in ophthalmic diagnosis. The inclusion of comprehensive literature reviews further broadens the scientific discussion by summarizing current evidence and identifying future directions for research and clinical practice.

This issue also highlights the diversity of author affiliations and multidisciplinary collaboration. Most contributors are affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Krida Wacana Christian University (UKRIDA), Jakarta, Indonesia, representing expertise across multiple departments, including Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine, Anatomy Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Nutrition, Surgery, and Forensic and Medicolegal Medicine. In addition, several studies were conducted through collaborations with regional hospitals, tertiary referral centers, and community healthcare institutions across Indonesia, demonstrating the journal's commitment to strengthening academic–clinical partnerships and promoting collaborative medical research.

Through this collection of scholarly work, JMedScientiae continues to provide a platform for high-quality, peer-reviewed research that advances medical knowledge, encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, and supports evidence-based healthcare practice at both national and international levels.
