Integrating Basic, Clinical, and Translational Research in Medical and Health Sciences

JMedScientiae Volume 3, Issue 3 (2024) presents a collection of peer-reviewed original research articles and literature reviews that reflect the multidisciplinary scope of contemporary medical and health sciences. The published studies encompass a broad spectrum of biomedical and clinical disciplines, including ophthalmology, anesthesiology, microbiology, pharmacology, pathology, nutrition, toxicology, surgery, and evidence-based medicine. Together, these contributions strengthen the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical practice and public health improvement.

The articles address diverse and timely healthcare topics, including visual health and myopia, glaucoma management, preoperative anxiety, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of natural products, experimental animal studies, burn wound infections, gastrointestinal protection, and emerging biomedical technologies such as gene therapy and laboratory research models. Several literature reviews complement the original investigations by synthesizing current evidence to support clinical decision-making and identify future research directions.

This issue also highlights the diversity of author affiliations and interdisciplinary collaboration. Most contributors are affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Krida Wacana Christian University (UKRIDA), Jakarta, Indonesia, representing a wide range of academic departments, including Ophthalmology, Anatomy and Histopathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Nutrition, Surgery, Anesthesiology, and other biomedical sciences. In addition, several publications involve collaborations with hospitals and healthcare institutions across Indonesia, demonstrating the journal's commitment to fostering academic–clinical partnerships and promoting collaborative research that addresses real-world healthcare challenges.

Through this issue, JMedScientiae continues to provide a platform for high-quality, peer-reviewed research that advances medical knowledge, encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, and supports evidence-based healthcare practice.
