Abstract

Toksisitas adalah salah satu masalah utama dalam proses pengembangan obat. Kardiotoksisitas, neurotoksisitas dan hepamerupakan alasan utama obat tidak lolos dalam uji klinik atau ditarik dari pasaran. Larva ikan zebra dapat menjembatani antara uji in vitro dan model hewan mamalia mengerat dengan lebih cepat dan ekonomis. Toksisitas organ dapat dideteksi mulai pada tahap larva sehingga dapat diprediksi dengan tepat pengaruh obat tersebut pada manusia. Uji kardiotoksik, neurotoksik dan hepatotoksik dapat dilakukan pada hewan yang sama dengan ketepatan dan ketelitian yang tinggi.
