Abstract

Praktik dokter yang melakukan terapi kepada keluarga sendiri masih menjadi perdebatan hingga saat ini. Indonesia belum mengeluarkan hukum terkait hal ini dan belum ada tinjauan etika yang membahas terkait permasalahan tersebut. Mengobati keluarga sendiri dianggap tidak profesional dan bertentangan dengan KODEKI (Kode Etik Kedokteran Indonesia) 2012 Pasal 2, yaitu dokter dituntut untuk menjadi profesional secara independen. Berbagai alasan yang menyebabkan dokter tidak boleh mengobati anggota keluarganya yaitu objektivitas bisa terkompromi, pasien merasa sungkan mengemukakan informasi, otonomi pasien terkompromi, dan prinsip informed consent bisa terabaikan. Situasi khusus yang memperbolehkan dokter melakukan terapi kepada keluarga yaitu penyakit tergolong minor dan emergensi. Karena berbagai pergumulan muncul dari kalangan dokter akan praktik mengobati keluarganya sendiri, oleh karena itu tinjauan ini merangkum berbagai alasan apakah dokter diperbolehkan melakukan terapi terhadap keluarga sendiri dan situasi khusus yang memperbolehkannya.
