Generative AI Policy

Policy for Authors

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of submitted manuscript. Therefore, authors must maintain full transparency regarding the use of AI tools in their research. It is a mandatory requirement that authors declare any AI use upon the submission of their manuscript, including the name of the AI tool used, version, the purpose of the use, and the extent of their use. AI use declaration should be placed before the references.

Authors are not allowed to use AI tool to generate, interpret, or analyze scientific content, data, or conclusions.

AI may assist in certain stages of the writing process; however, authors are solely responsible for the content of their work and must identify all sources, including AI-generated components. AI can be used to enhance readability of the manuscript, language (editing and grammatical refinement, spelling and punctuation), and content organization.

We do not allow the use of generative AI to create or alter images in submitted manuscripts. We prohibit the use of generative AI to enhance, obscure, move, remove, or introduce specific feature in an image. Adjustment of color brightness, contrast, or color balance are acceptable, only if they do not obscure or eliminate certain information from the original images.

 

Policy for Reviewers

Reviewers are entrusted with the confidentiality of the peer-review process and must adhere to strict limitations regarding AI. Reviewers must not upload unpublished manuscripts or any confidential correspondence—including editorial decision letters and review reports—to generative AI tools. Furthermore, reviewers are prohibited from using AI tools to create review content, as the evaluation must be based on their own expert judgment and objective assessment. Reviewers are also expected to report any suspected AI misuse by authors to the publisher.

 

Policy for Editors

Editors hold the ultimate responsibility for the scientific quality and integrity of the journal. In this capacity, editors must not use AI for editorial evaluation or decision-making. To safeguard the intellectual property of authors, editors are strictly forbidden from uploading unpublished manuscripts or confidential editorial documents to generative AI platforms. Editors are responsible for investigating any suspected AI misuse identified during the review process and must follow up with the authors or report the matter to the publisher as appropriate to maintain the validity of the scientific record.
